Product Details

The King Baboon is a huge, heavily built Old World species from Kenya and Tanzania. They have a chunky reddish-brown appearance and can reach around 18–21cm as adults. They’re slow growing and highly fossorial, spending much of their time underground in deep, elaborate burrows.

They’re a burrowing species, so provide plenty of substrate to allow them to dig and create their own tunnels.

Keep them around 22–28°C with humidity around 50–65%.

Temperament-wise, they’re defensive and can be very intimidating when disturbed, with a reputation for stridulating loudly as a warning. They’re definitely one for experienced keepers
